Stuck in Traffic, Throwback Thursday

September 24, 2015

Being stuck in traffic is never the Ideal situation. Unfortunately, here in New Orleans it seems to be happening to me far more often. On this particular evening I dropped my wife off to meet her friends at Cafe Envie on Decatur. Not only did I not get good coffee, but I spent a long time in the car while  all the beautiful evening light was dying down in the French Quarter.  I guess there are worse ways to spend your time.

Bridal Portrait in the French Quarter, Monochrome Monday

September 14, 2015

The light in the French Quarter can be so amazing. The architecture there creates backdrops with textures unique in all of the world.

This Is a portrait of Ashton, who writes the ladies' fashion and lifestyle blog Purple Paddock. If you're a person that follows those sorts of things, it's well worth checking out and adding to whichever reader you use.

She's also the bride in the banner image on my Facebook Page. If you're not into following blogs but you still want to see the content I'm writing, all of the post from this blog are cross posted over there.  So stop by and give it a like.

Film Friday: Please pardon our construction.

September 11, 2015

The new website and blog are finally up. It has been a LONG summer.

Please pardon our progress as my creative team and I work out the final tweaks. But you can go ahead and leave feedback on what you think of the site.

Thanks for tuning in. So much more awesomeness to come.

Throwback Thursday. Night Shot in New York City

September 10, 2015

Back in the pre-digital SLR era, shooting at night was hard. You only had a limited number of low light films to choose from, and they all had their drawbacks. I'd never been to New York before. But I had always heard about the bright lights.  I packed two rolls of Fuji 800 NPZ and rolled the dice.  I was so pumped that it worked.

As I've reworked this site and this blog I've had a chance to look at a lot of old images.  This seems to be the only time I shot night cityscapes. I really should do it more often.
